Echidna Offroad was founded by Aussie adventurers who were done paying too much for gear that wasn't tough enough. So we made our own - right here in Queensland.

How it started

The story behind the brand.

Echidna Offroad was founded by an Aussie Family of adventurers who wanted gear we could genuinely rely on that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg.

"We built the products we wanted to use ourselves, and tested them in the places that matter most."

So that's exactly what we did. We carefully selected quality materials, including 600gsm canvas, YKK racquet coil zippers, and zinc alloy buckles - focused on the details that matter, and tested our gear in real Australian conditions.

What started as a personal project quickly resonated with other travellers. Today, Echidna Offroad is the #1 rated camping store on Trustpilot Australia, and we still approach every product with the same goal we had from day one: build gear we're proud to use ourselves and have the best customer service possible!

2023 - Echidna Offroad launches

The Outback Spare Wheel Bag launches on echidnaoffroad.com.au. First five-star reviews arrive within weeks.

2023 - Perfect Trustpilot score

Rating climbs to 5.0 and stays there. Customers start comparing us to bags at twice the price - and saying ours are better.

2024 - Range expands

The Joey, Amphibian, Koala, Gumnut, and Pouch XL join the lineup. Every product built to the same standard as the first.

2026 - The 3.0 upgrade

Our gear is upgraded to ISO-tested fade-proof canvas rated Blue Wool Scale 8 - the highest UV resistance grade available.

2026 - Going global

echidnaoffroad.com launches for international customers. The gear doesn't change - it ships worldwide now.

Build quality above everything

We use 600gsm canvas when others use 400gsm or kess. Zinc alloy buckles when others use plastic. YKK racquet coil zippers when others use no-brand hardware, bartack stitching, internal bags, combination locks and security cables. Every upgrade costs more - we absorb it because we'd rather lose margin than ship a bag that fail or get stolen.

Honest pricing

Premium materials at a price that doesn't require a second mortgage. We source smart, cut out the middlemen, and price fairly. Our customers regularly tell us we're the best value in the category - that's not an accident.

Adventure tested, not lab guessed

Every product is tested in real conditions - outback tracks, beach camps, river crossings. If it doesn't survive our own trips, it doesn't go on the site. No exceptions.
