The Joey 3.0 is the compact sibling of The Outback Spare Wheel Bag - and it packs every bit of the same toughness into a smaller frame. Purpose-built for compact spare tyres, Jimny owners, and caravans running smaller wheels, it's the same bomb-proof philosophy in a 42-litre package. Built with 600gsm hard-coated fadeproof & waterproof canvas, premium YKK racquet coil zippers, and metal zinc alloy buckles — with a free mesh bag and security lock in every box.
01 - Exterior
Compact doesn't mean soft.
600gsm hard-coated fadeproof & waterproof canvas - tougher than the average bag in this class - gives The Joey an exterior that handles whatever you throw at it. A reinforced base prevents sagging so the bag holds its shape on your wheel, trip after trip.
02 — Hardware
Same premium hardware. No plastic.
Extra-thick metal zinc alloy buckles paired with seatbelt-grade straps — same spec as our full-size Outback 3.0. YKK racquet coil zippers (premium grade) run smooth and strong. Every connection point is a deliberate upgrade over the plastic clips you'll find on most wheel bags.
03 — Inside
42 litres. More than you'd expect.
An 840gsm PVC waterproof inner lining keeps your gear dry in any condition. The removable trucker mesh bag (free) velcros inside and pulls out in one motion - handy for separating rubbish, hoses, wet gear, or that day's firewood from the rest of your kit. A drainage eyelet in the base means no moisture pooling.
04 — Security
Theft protection. Included free.
A 4mm coil security cable and weatherproof combination lock come with every order at no extra cost. Thread the cable through the buckle slot and/or zipper pullers and secure it to an anchor point - keeps the opportunists honest at any campsite, street or car park.

Is this the right bag for a Suzuki Jimny?
Yes — The Joey was designed with compact spare tyres like the Jimny's in mind. Stock Jimny tyres (195/80 R15) fall within The Joey's 25"–29" fitment range. If you've fitted larger aftermarket tyres up to 29", it still fits. For anything larger than 29", the Outback 3.0 or Amphibian is the right bag.
Will the canvas fade in the sun?
No — the 3.0 uses fade-proof canvas independently ISO lab tested to a Blue Wool Scale rating of 8, the highest UV resistance grade available. It holds its colour in harsh sun exposure including Australian summers and desert conditions.
Our older 2.0 would fade over time, but the fading was purely cosmetic and didn't affect the strength or durability of the bag.
What plastic bin fits best in The Joey?
This 22L bin from Bunnings fits well - https://www.bunnings.com.au/ezystorage-22l-white-revida-modular-bin_p0862346 fits well. The removable internal mesh bag is ideal for camp rubbish if you're not using a bin, it pulls out in one clean motion and holds a lot for its size.
How do I use the security cable and lock?
Thread the 4mm coil cable through the buckle slots and/or zipper pullers and loop it around a fixed point on your 4wd/caravan. The weatherproof combination lock secures the cable ends together. Alternatively, lock both zipper pullers together directly with the combination lock for a simpler setup. What zippers does The Joey use?
YKK racquet coil zippers - the premium grade. Heavy-duty nylon with an oval-shaped coil and reinforced thread protection. Stronger and smoother than standard YKK zippers. Lubricate with zipper lube every few months for best performance.

We use this Wheel Bag all the time and the quality is outstanding! The customer service when purchasing was the best we’ve experienced so far! They kept us up to date with every single movement made sure we were not forgotten! The wheel bag held 4 days worth of cans if 3 adults plus rubbish bags from the other bin!
