The Ironbark Hitch Cover 3.0 is the newest addition to the Echidna range — and the only hitch cover built to the same bomb-proof standard as everything else we make. Designed to protect caravan and trailer hitch setups from the elements, it uses 600gsm ISO fade-proof canvas, 840gsm PVC lining, zinc alloy buckles, and a storage pocket that uses a size 8 YKK racquet coil zipper. Generously sized to accommodate virtually all hitch configurations — hardware, safety chains, trailer plugs, cables, and handbrakes included.

01 — Exterior
600gsm. Fade-proof. Lab tested.
The same 600gsm hard-coated waterproof canvas used in our Outback 3.0 and Amphibian 3.0 wraps the exterior — with the ISO Blue Wool Scale 8 fade-proof upgrade baked in. It handles UV, rain, coastal salt spray, and red dust without degrading or losing colour. Reinforced stitching at every load-bearing point ensures the cover holds its shape and strength under constant road vibration.
02 — Top pocket
A pocket where you actually need one.
A large top storage pocket — fitted with size 8 YKK zippers — sits on the upper face of the cover, providing quick-access storage for hitch locks, pin covers, wheel brace adapters, and other small essentials you want close at hand when hitching up. It's a practical detail that saves you rummaging through the car every time.

03 — Hardware
Zinc alloy. Not plastic.
Extra-thick zinc alloy buckles paired with heavy-duty seatbelt-grade webbing straps hold the cover securely around your hitch setup regardless of road conditions. The same buckle spec used across the Outback 3.0 and Joey 2.0 — proven not to degrade, crack, or fail under sustained load and vibration.
04 — Interior
840gsm PVC. A second barrier.
The heavy-duty 840gsm waterproof PVC interior lining provides a second barrier against water, dust, and coastal salt — so even in sustained heavy rain or a high-pressure wash, your hitch hardware stays protected. The same inner lining spec used across the entire Echidna wheel bag range.

The Ironbark 3.0 is designed to suit virtually all standard caravan and trailer hitch setups — including those with safety chains, trailer plugs, cables, and handbrakes. What is the top pocket for?
The large top storage pocket — fitted with size 8 YKK zippers — is designed for hitch locks, pin covers, wheel brace adapters, and other small items you need quick access to when hitching up. It keeps everything together in one place so you're not rummaging through the car every time you couple the van.
How do the drainage eyelets work?
Two eyelets at the base of the cover allow water and moisture to drain out freely.
How do I use the upper security eyelet?
Thread a security cable through the large upper eyelet and loop it around your drawbar, then lock it with a padlock. This deters opportunistic theft of your hitch hardware.
Will the canvas fade in the sun?
Not on the 3.0. The canvas has been independently ISO lab tested and achieved a Blue Wool Scale rating of 8 — the highest UV resistance grade available. It's designed to hold its colour under prolonged Australian sun exposure and harsh outdoor conditions.
