How To Secure Your Spare Wheel Bag

Spare wheel bags provide convenient extra storage while travelling, but their external location makes some customers want the ability to lock them in place . Here’s how we add a layer of security to protect our bags from any opportunists:
Materials:
1. Security Cable: We recommend a 4mm coil cable, as this can slide through the upper slot of the metal buckle (as shown in the pictures). Opt for a vinyl-coated coil cable that can extend to 120cm. This will prevent scratches and also allow you to easily remove the wheel bag from the spare if you ever need to change a flat tyre.
2. Padlock: Choose a sturdy weather-resistant padlock or combination lock with a shrouded shackle (the U-shaped part).

Instructions:

Step 1. Choose an Anchor Point:
Locate a secure, solid spot that’s attached to your vehicle. If possible, select a point that’s difficult to reach or access with tools.

Step 2. Thread the Cable Through:
Pass the security cable through itself, then through the spare wheel’s rim, around your chosen anchor point, and through the slot in the spare wheel bags metal buckles (as shown in image).

Step 3. Secure with Padlock/Combination Lock:
Lock the end of the cable together with your padlock/combination lock (as show in image)
Step 4. Try Different Methods:
There are various different set-ups, and the above instructions won’t work for everyone, but something similar will.
Great product. Just received my spare wheel bag, and fitted to the spare wheel on my off road caravan. Fits perfectly, easy to install. Looks to be made of good quality materials. Looking forward to putting it to good use. Cheers.
Quick delivery , excellent communication from purchase to delivery, a very well made product. Would certainly recommend to anyone in the market for a rear spare tire bag. Great for rubbish and firewood.
Fantastic product – great quality, fits perfectly, looks great and functional and the addition of the lock and cable for security is smart thinking.
